In God’s providence, you have found each other and are choosing to give yourselves to each other in love. Jesus Christ has raised the love of man and woman to the dignity of a Sacrament, a sign of the love of Christ for his Church. Immaculate Heart of Mary Church offers a variety of paths to help you prepare for your Christian marriage, to become that sign of the love of Christ for his Church.
Usually, the formation and pre-marital preparation process take at least six months. Please don’t put down deposits on reception venues, etc. until you have met with someone in the parish to establish the date of your marriage. To begin your preparation, please fill out and submit the form below and one of our marriage prep team members will contact you shortly to set up your first meeting.
God who has loved you into life and guided your footsteps until now has much to teach you in the process of preparing for the sacrament of marriage. Open your hearts to God and invite Jesus Christ to guide you in this journey.
First, fill out the marriage preparation request form at the bottom of this page before completing anything else.
CIVIL REQUIREMENTS
State laws change from time to time, and make what is printed here inaccurate. It is best to check early at the courthouse for current requirements. You may encounter delays if you need to produce birth certificates or
residency statements from other counties, states, or countries. However, bring the license with you for the wedding rehearsal, usually the day before. The priest must have the license at this time, otherwise he will be unable to perform the wedding.
OTHER DOCUMENTS
Catholics and baptized Christians need to present a baptismal certificate. For Catholics, the certificate needs to have been issued within the last six months.
