Day 1-2: Paris - The City of Light
Arriving in Paris early in the morning, we transfer to our hotel before embarking on a sightseeing tour. From Montmartre, we take in panoramic views of the city and observe contemporary artists at work in Place du Tertre. A visit to the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur follows, before exploring the iconic Champs Elysées and Arc de Triomphe. The evening concludes with a delightful dinner and rest at our hotel.
Day 3: Bordeaux and Saint Emilion
After breakfast, we journey to the Bordeaux region, where we explore Saint Emilion, a charming enclave known for its rich history and wine traditions. A visit to Château Smith Haut Lafitte offers an exclusive tasting of world-renowned Bordeaux wines. We then return to our hotel for the night.
Day 4: Lourdes - A Sacred Sanctuary
We continue our pilgrimage to Lourdes, where we check into our hotel before visiting the Lourdes Sanctuary. In the evening, there is an opportunity to participate in the Marian Candlelight Procession, a moving experience for those who choose to partake.
Day 5: Spiritual Immersion in Lourdes
Our day in Lourdes includes an optional Mass at the Grotto of Massabielle, visits to the Basilica of the Rosary and the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and a screening of a film about the Miracle of Lourdes. In the evening, another Marian Candlelight Procession is available for those who wish to attend.
Day 6: Following in the Footsteps of St. Bernadette
We walk the path of St. Bernadette, visiting key sites including the Mill of Boly and Le Cachot, which were significant in her life. In the afternoon, we explore the historic city of Pau, home of King Henry IV. Here, we enjoy a private vineyard experience with tastings of Jurançon wine, local cold cuts, and famous duck liver delicacies. The evening offers another optional Marian Procession.
Day 7: Biarritz - A Luxurious Retreat
A trip to Biarritz takes us to a 19th-century luxury resort that once hosted European aristocracy. We admire the grandeur of the Hotel du Palais, stroll along the stunning beaches, and visit the Church of St. Eugenie. After free time in the city, we return to Lourdes for dinner and rest.
Day 8: Loire Valley - Castles and History
We bid farewell to Lourdes at the Grotto of Massabielle before heading towards the Loire Valley. Our first stop is the picturesque Château de Chenonceau, known for its beautiful architecture and gardens. We enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the Tours region.
Day 9: Castles of Cheverny and Chambord
A day of castle exploration begins with a visit to Cheverny Castle, an estate that has remained in the Hurault family for over 600 years. We then stop at the grand Chambord Castle before proceeding to Chartres to visit its magnificent cathedral. Dinner and an overnight stay near Paris follow.
Day 10: Exploring Paris
Our Parisian adventure includes Notre Dame Cathedral, a stroll along Boulevard St. Michael, and a visit to the Latin Quarter. We explore the Pantheon and the Church of Saint Etienne du Mont, significant to scholars like St. Thomas Aquinas. The afternoon is spent near the Eiffel Tower, culminating in a scenic cruise along the Seine.
Day 11: The Grandeur of Versailles
A trip to Versailles immerses us in the splendor of French royalty. We tour the palace and gardens, marveling at the artistic mastery that defined an era. Free time in the gardens allows for personal exploration before dinner and our return to the hotel.
Day 12: Departure
After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport for our return flight from Paris CDG, concluding an unforgettable journey.
